Practical Employee Solutions
Practical Employee Solutions (PES) was formed in Dallas, Texas in late 1996 by a group of seasoned hospitality executives and is directed on a daily basis by Veronica T. Strickland, Director of Operations. Ms. Strickland’s experience includes over 16 years of executive level human resource leadership in the hospitality industry, including 10 years as Director of Human Resources at the Kingston Plantation Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her responsibilities included all staffing and recruitment for this 1,000 room, 650 employee, 4-Diamond resort.

In order to address the seasonal staffing needs of Kingston Plantation, in 1993 Ms. Strickland coordinated the effort to form the Hospitality Employer’s Association.  This  nonprofit, multi-employer organization was dedicated to the recruitment of entry level, skilled and unskilled labor from markets throughout the world.

By establishing a coalition of employers to share in the expenses associated with these creative programs,  the Association proved successful in addressing the staffing needs of its members. A large part of that success was made possible by working with the U.S. Government and foreign universities as well as other services that provide job placement for immigrants, refugees and displaced workers.  Based on the success of The Association and the demand received from other hospitality employers for inclusion within the Association, Practical Employee Solutions (PES) was formed in late 1996 as a privately held corporation dedicated to providing staffing solutions to the hospitality industry.
